Always try and use the right paste for the job. There are loads of different types of paste (which can be very confusing) Pastilage - a roll out icing which dries rock hard (very quickly) and has no stretch - best suited for flat cut out pieces (to build a church etc) Mexican paste - a roll out icing, which dries rock solid, has a small amount of stretch Flowerpaste - a roll out icing, which dries rock solid, has a large amount of stretch Sugarpaste - a roll out icing that only ever skins over ie always soft to the bite Modelling paste (sugarpaste with tylo powder added) a roll out icing which will dry firm but never rock solid 50/50 paste (equal quantities of sugarpaste and flowerpaste) a roll out icing with a small amount of stretch, which will dry firm but never rock solid
