Am I among the last of the flip phone users in America? Am I thereby doing the equivalent of driving a rusty Model T Ford while the rest of the world is whizzing by in shiny new Chevrolets? I have never taken a picture with my cell phone, never text messaged on it, and only give the number to close friends and family for emergencies. Does the use of my flip phone betray my age as my landline does in my home? When I look at the world around me I cannot help but whisper to myself Hooray for the 20th century when we used gadgets to make life easier, now I think we are used by our gadgets and the more we have the more complicated our lives. But I do love it when friends and family send to my computer photos of dogs and kids via their apple dapple cellphones - I just dont want to join the fray. Is it fear that I will join the throng of those who march like robots down the street with their faces buried in their phones? Or a matter of principle?
