Am I being an absolute fool here for saying what I feel and - TopicsExpress

Am I being an absolute fool here for saying what I feel and believe? Am I going to be taken outside and shot or tortured by our CIA for so doing? Will the FBI Gestapo knock on my door at 2:00 AM and take me for a train trip all expenses paid? What was our Revolution all about? Wasnt it to in addition to ending being taxed by a foreign power, having the freedom to live our own lives without being scared to talk about the truth and not turn over our rights to a few who find that dismantling those very rights is in their interests, or so they believe. So, the concept of democracy always stands on a knifes edge; its what we do with that concept that makes us free or not. If we are afraid to speak our minds, it is a tacit acceptance of what the conservatives want, and not in the interests off a people who fought a war to be free...We have allowed their rights o grow and ours to suffer abuse and denial. that would have been okay if they represent the majority, they dont. They barely represent 2% of the population but as of the 80s they have managed to poson the minds of 80 million spiritual conservatives who have biases and hatreds of their own, who dont like science because it interferes, or so they think, with their own belief systems, and they believe the hype that the poor are only takers IN THE SYSTEM depriving hard working people of whats duly theirs...We must acknowledge that we have failed in getting the truth out there for all to see and we have allowed those with special interests, and special privileges, to spread their distorted way of thinking far and wide, and until we find the courage to change what this society is becoming, we will continue to lose ground and our tacit surrender wll only deepen the hole we are digging ourselves... We are not puppets! We do have the power of numbers to change the status quo; only we lack the commitment!...
