Am I the only one who sees a qualitative difference between dressing in blackface to mock black people and dressing in blackface to either mock or impersonate a particular black person? I get the historic argument for why blackface is offensive, but if a white man uses blackface to impersonate Ray Rice for Halloween, he may be guilty of a lot of things, but is racism necessarily one of them? Hate to say it, but I dont think so. Not defending blackface. Just differentiating.
