Am loving dis. **Chelsea’s 21 year old keeper issues Cech an open challenge! Chelsea’s Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed that he is biding his time in Spain and is contemplating a return to west London next year to challenge Blues stalwart Peter Cech for the right to be the club’s number one. Courtois is currently on a three year sojourn with Atletico Madrid where he has gone on loan. Speaking to Spanish daily AS, the goalkeeper revealed that the chance to play in the Champions League was too good to let go, “The club and Jose Mourinho wanted me back this season, the management also thought about loaning me to a Premier League team. But I didn’t like that option, I feel good in Madrid and I wanted to play in the Champions League with Atletico.” The 21 year old is heartened by Mourinho’s reputation of not caring about reputations and is hoping that ‘The Special One’ will be tempted to do a repeat of what he did at Madrid, “I’m not afraid of fighting for my place with Cech, I’m not afraid of anybody. I believe in my qualities and I know Mourinho does not think about status when he chooses players. The proof is that he left Casillas on the bench because he thought Diego Lopez was training better.” Courtois is yet to feature in a game for Chelsea, but the 21 year old has displayed enough fire in his belly and ability on the pitch for Cech to be on his guard.
