Amal Clooney, Georges new ball and chain, is, according to Baba Wawa, the most fascinating person of 2014..WTF? Not being a card carrying member of the Kardashian Society of America, I never heard of her. I figured the show would blow chunks, and I was not off the mark in my assessment. She gave a few minutes to Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla talking about the future of transportation in America and rocket development..and two full segments to Oprah Winfrey, with her usual babble and weight issues. I cant say Im really surprised, since a country that has seen fit to elect Obama twice apparently pays little attention to anything of real substance at this point in time. And, its just one dried up old ladys opinion...but to me it amplifies the tremendous focus America puts on this kind of shit. Folks literally worship people who are simply famous for being famous..I dont get it. When reality (as if they really have anything to do with the word) shows replaced Gunsmoke, it all went to hell, in my opinion. Snooki and JWOWW and Love and Hip Hop Atlanta ..gimme a break. Yeah, I know I sound like the old crusty curmudgeon I probably am...but shows that were relevant to the times, like All In The Family gave me pause to think about stuff now and then. Cable TV has some good stuff, but the networks have turned chicken salad into chicken shit, in my humble opinion. As my son once said, referring to the many offshoots of Law and Order, whats next? Law and Order...Parking Violation Division?
