Amal Neerad movie, Iyobinte Pusthakam not a review.. Just some observations Movie is a period drama set in breathtaking landscapes of Munnar during the pre-independence years – mostly of events in 1946. വൃദ്ധന്മാരെല്ലാം ജ്ഞാനികളാകണമെന്നില്ല. പ്രായക്കൂടുതല്‍ നീതി ബോധത്തിന്റെ അളവു കോലല്ല. എന്ന് എഴുതികാണിച്ചു കൊണ്ടാണു ഇയോബിന്റെ പുസ്തകം ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. The most noticeable aspect of the movie is the detailing of each character. Movie offers a visual treat. Each frame, movements and angles used in the movie is a delight to watch. The warm color tones and textures add flair to the visuals. Special mention and claps to costume designer Sameera Saneesh and makeup artist Manoj Angamally for giving life to each character and to Art Director Sabu Mohan for bringing back an era of beauty, grandeur and struggle. Coming to the acting performances in the movie, Fahadh Faasil steals the limelight with his charming looks and body language in the role of Aloshy. Though he doesnt have many dialogues in the movie unlike the usual lead role, Fahadh gives out a stellar performance of a man with high quotient romance and revolutionary thoughts. Jaysurya also gives a stunning performance in the role of shrewd villainous character of a Tamil businessman Angoor Rawther. The actor, in fact gives a new dimension to the role with his excellent dialogue delivery and style and this role can be referred to as probably his career best till date . I found it more powerful portray than Subi Joseph of Apothecary Lals performance as Iyob also confirms that he is a actor in evolution . Chemban Vinod and Jinu Joseph have opened new a phase of their career with their negative role. Vinayakan again assures that he is here to stay for more performance based role. He has done his part beautifully. For me the surprise package coming back with a thunderous performance was Padmapriya... She was delightful. The guest appearance of Aashiq Abu and Amala Paul is also was interesting . From the directorial point of view, Iyobinte Pusthakam has all the elements of an entertainer in bits and pieces, but what is missing is the connecting factors of these elements. Movie is on the slower side. The major shortcomings are the two songs that break the flow of narration The points that I noticed which will make the movie a standout: Amal Neerads effort to create a movie with technical excellence is admirable.The movie moves at a bit slow pace but with superbly choreographed action. Amal has kept the movie as real as possible yet balances it to make an entertaining affair. This sincere, different effort from Amal Neerad is a decent one time watch, especially considering the emphatic camera work which will leave you breathless at times. Watch it if u have a fair for beautiful visuals. Not everyones cup of tea for sure. For those who love to watch an art of perfect colours this is the movie which you will cherish for long. Visuals are mind blowing and picture perfect comparable with any international ventures.. For me this is amazing stuff... Brilliant effort Amal.. U are getting better each time you come out. A big thumbs up for the brave effort and hardwork. എങ്ങും അനിശ്ചിതാവസ്ഥ തങ്ങി നില്‍ക്കുന്ന കാലഘട്ടത്തിലെ പ്രണയം കാലത്തിനെ മറികടന്ന് ആവേശഭരിതമാകുകയാണ് ഇതില്‍. കാലം ഏതായാലും മൂന്നാര്‍ ദൃശ്യങ്ങളും, ജീവിതവും ആവേശം പകരുന്നതിനാല്‍ ഒരു കാലഘട്ടത്തെ തനിമയോടെ പകര്‍ത്തി വയ്ക്കുകയാണ് ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തില്‍. Iyobinte Pusthakam does demand your attention, just like the reading of a book. It is not a page turner, but for me the viewing experience ultimately turned out to be a rewarding one. Its violent and Manly. Wild western genre I simply loved the movie......
