Amanda M. Garcia Hello my name is Amanda Garcia, I am a mother of 3 beautiful children. I am a Runner! I started my journey running 1 year ago. In 2008 I lost my Grandmother to breast cancer & my Aunt the following year, I was heartbroken. I held in all the hurt & frustration I had. Last year I was crushed all over again when I lost my young, beautiful best friend to breast cancer. The pain & frustration became unbearable I had to find a way to release & make myself feel better. My father was a cross country/track star in high school, so I dug deep & I went for my first run on June 24, 2013. Every 5k, 10k I do, I do for a cause to help the people & organizations of the RGV. I run to inspire not only myself, I run to heal, I run for my family, I run to be healthy, I run for those who can no longer run here on earth. And if I can be an inspiration to the women of the RGV than every mile is worth it! Its not easy being a mom of 3 working full time & being a Police wife BUT I make it happen every day I push myself for my kids. I Eat clean, train hard & the strength that God gives me empowers me to move forward!
