Morgan glass gallery reprises synthesis a thematic fusing and kilnforming show (from their website) opens June 6, 2014 Synthesis2: fusing & kilnforming opens June 6, 2014 during WarmWeatherWalk 5:30-8:30 at morgan contemporary glass gallery, celebrating the unique painterly technique of glass fusing and kilnforming. Using this ancient, but newly popular technique, glass is altered, fused, shaped, or textured by the heat of a kiln, then often shaped in molds or slumped into forms. This impressive show runs the gamut from abstract impressionist influences to representational forms, photographic, and topographical references, encompassing both sculptures and wall pieces by Jackie Braitman, Dorothy Hafner, Karl Harron, Patti & Dave Hegland, Bronwen Heilman, Steve Immerman, Steve Klein, Fahan Sky Mcdonagh, Kari Minnick, Catharine Newell, Alyssa Oxley, Doug Randall, Amanda Simmons, and Steven Tippin. This show marks the debut of Braitman, the Heglands, Mcdonagh, Oxley, Simmons and Tippin at the gallery. Meet and greet artists Patti and Dave Hegland at the opening reception.
