Amanda asked: We love our 9 month old German Shepherd, Ellie. She does great with our two kids (and hopefully the new baby!), aside from some jumping up were still trying to curb. She is, however, *very* shy around strangers and will bark and bark and bark when people come to the door or into the house. She does it to my mother-in-law every time she visits, takes her 20 to 30 minutes to settle down. We had a child over for a playdate a few weeks ago, and Ellie barked at her almost the entire time. While she doesnt display any aggressive behavior (except for the barking), it can be scary for people who arent used to big dogs and their loud barks. Weve tried having guests give her a treat, come to greet her, etc. Its getting to the point where Im embarrassed to have people come over. With the holidays coming up and people planning on visiting the new baby, I need some suggestions!!! Thank you in advance.
