These dogs and cats lived in the front room of a small, diseased apartment for years, covered in such filth, with severely infected skin, eyes, teeth, that some would scream when merely touched. They were trapped in a box, and became feral. They did not start off that way. In the beginning of life there was Hope, until a very sick individual took that away from them. And through this all - still inside all that darkness - came the faintest of smiles from Oscar.
