Amazing dog trainer on the Louis Theroux programme about LA dogs. Very troubled dog in which everybody including a vet had said that he should be destroyed as he showed aggressive behaviour, the owner really didnt want to have him put down and went to see this guy who straight away calmed the dog and within five minutes was almost unrecognisable. He was very much of the opinion that people should try and understand the primitive nature of the animals, as opposed to expecting the dogs to understand the human way of life. Dogs are not a convenience. Troubled dogs are not bad dogs. Troubled dogs are dogs that are scared or confused in situations and react in the natural way a dog would. Made me think of our little man and how troubled he was when we first met him and how let down he had been by people all too quick to dismiss him as a lost cause. (Hes currently fast asleep on the sofa, being all terrifying and that....)
