Amazing screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey tonight at the Capri with the 2 stars in attendance. Best part was the slightly surreal moment I found myself standing next to Keir Dullea at the urinal and then watching him struggle to use and swear at a hand dryer, which I later heard him describe to the manager as pathetic. The man who defeated the HAL 9000 super computer is bested by a humble hand dryer. This is why you should never meet your heroes. Honestly they both seemed like really lovely guys tho and were very generous in the Q&A. Even tho the night threatened to be ruined by an old lady continually asking her husband ridiculous questions such as whats that? EVERY time the monolith appeared, it was pretty sweet to see such a groundbreaking film on the big screen in a really beautiful theatre. Also the servo attendant on the way home was singing Fine Young Canibals - She Drives Me Crazy and thats pretty ok by me.
