Amazing series of lectures on the slaves of the most merciful (عِبَادُ الرَّحْمَٰنِ) from Surah Al-Furqan. Just 6 minutes into the video and already benefited a lot. May Allah reward Ustaadh Abdulrahman Hassan. Here are some notes I took; عِبَادُ الرَّحْمَٰنِ- Servants of the most merciful. Difference between the letter و which means and & the letter ف which also means and. However the difference is that و doesnt show an order whereas ف shows an order. The word عبد has two plurals the first of which is عبيد this means a servant that is owned either by money or power who has no ability to go outside of the power that is owning him. The second plural is عباد which is a person who comes with worship. So we say every person is a عبيد (Owned servant) but not every person is an عباد (One who comes with worship).
