Ambassador Zhao Jianhua did not refer to the territorial dispute but called the Philippines share of the Chinese investment pie too disappointing, What else can we expect of a foreign diplomat speaking to a crowd in the Philippines? Of course he or she wont be saying anything against our political stand like that of the South China Sea. But about how wide are these disputed islands involved in this territorial claim? Can we Filipinos really claim these islands as ours and protect them and the resources abound? The answer to my questions find some similarity to the claims of some farmers at Hacienda Luisita. We react with anger on reports of the Chinese vessels poaching, fishing and probably drilling for some gas or oil in those islands. This is the same feeling the farmers at Hacienda Luisita are feeling while watching prominent figures delight and enjoy the land which are supposed to be owned and tilled by the farmers for their families. Chinese kasi eh..
