Amber asked.... I just moved into a apartment. It is a fairly new development, Im only the fourth resident in my unit. The apartment is a very small one bedroom, so its really important that I maximize space. Since the kitchen only has a few cupboards, there is a small pantry closet. Unfortunately there is an terrible, noxious, overwhelming odor in this closet. It is a chemical kind of smell that almost smells like kerosene (thats the best description I can think of). I have detected the same odor in a coat closet in a different unit. My sister suspects that the scent is attributable to some time of caulking or compound that was used in the construction that was not allowed sufficient time to air out in these small closet spaces. Right now I have 12 bowls of baking soda in the closet and also baking soda thickly sprinkled all over the floor. So far it doesnt seem to be having any effect. I really can not store anything in this space, and certainly not food, until the scent is vanquished. I welcome and appreciate any suggestion. Thank you!
