Ambitious yet humble, Renée Edwards has proven that with hard work, dedication, originality and persistence, anything is possible. Her bubbly and very charismatic personality creates a rippling effect of joy and happiness on the lives of people who come into contact with her. Born in the beautiful twin island state of Antigua and Barbuda to parents Rupert Edwards and Mignonette Richards-Edwards, Renée began her educational journey at the Antigua Girls’ High School where she was successful in securing 8 CXC subjects under her belt. Upon completion of Secondary school and with her love for Engineering as her driving force, she went on to further her studies at the Antigua State College Engineering Department where she attained a Diploma in Automotive Engineering. Her educational journey later took her to the Centennial College where she attained her Private and Commercial Pilot License in the Professional Pilot Programme. The last leg of her studies led her to the Art Williams and Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School where she studied Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering and attained her Guyana Civil Aviation Engineering License. Renée is currently employed at LIAT 1974 Ltd as a Aircraft Mechanic. Although her studies played an integral part in her becoming the professional that she is today, Renée still finds the time to engage in activities outside of professional development. She loves fixing cars and drag racing. Currently, she races her V8 powered RX7 in Nevis. She also loves to swim and dance, and of course, play video games. Her friendly personality is one to be commended, as she is outgoing and a people’s person; traits that not only define her but what a Miss Plus Caribbean Universe delegate should be. Renée’s driving force for entering the pageant is quite unique. Despite it being a childhood dream, she was also dared to try her hand in the pageantry world.
