Amen. America is still a promise, a work in progress. Unfortunately, some would rather scuttle it than comprise and make it better. I dont know why the ultra-right preaches Americanism while working to bring it down. Worse, they are so blind they have no clue to what they are doing. People who criticize them are told to leave America despite the fact WE are the majority. We arent buying what they are selling. We love America and what it stands for too much. America is not the greatest country in the world, but it could be. It was once and it could be again. We are much blessed by accident of birth. We owe it to the planet to lead toward justice for all, for health care for all, an end to poverty for all, medical care for all, not just here but everywhere. America could be beautiful again. We can move beyond the Fergusons and the ISISes and toward unity. All it takes is commitment and compromise and a deep love of not only America, but of the whole earth and all the people traveling on it through space along with us. Its really a small spaceship, too small for the bickering and the hate, the waste of natural resources and of human lives. One planet, one people. I pray one day we will see that and act accordingly.
