Amen! I grew up in a house full of guns. We never used them for anything other than hunting. Now, if you tried to break into our house...that would be grounds for hunting! I think that a huge part of the problem is the desensitization of people to violence. We glorify it! Consider the impact that watching/playing violent video games has on young people. Watching those type videos/games desensitizes kids to violence and teaches them to solve problems with violence. Not everybody has the maturity and moral center to act appropriately, especially the mentally ill!
