Amen and Amen From: "Herbap@aol" To: herbap@aol Sent: Tuesday, August 6, 2013 4:59 AM Subject: Enemies List - Part 4 -- The Wake-up Herald The Wake-up Herald And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Romans 13:11-14 _____________________________________________________________ Robert McCurry, Editor & Publisher August 6, 2013 ____________________________________________________________ Enemies List Part 4 By Robert McCurry enemy n. pl. enemies = 1. One who feels hatred toward, intends injury to, or opposes the interests of another; a foe. 2. a. A hostile power or force, such as a nation. b. A member or unit of such a force. 3. A group of foes or hostile forces. 4. Something destructive or injurious in its effects: Synonyms: foe, opponent = these nouns denote one who is hostile to or opposes the purposes or interests of another. Jesus Christ is God. Isaiah prophesied six hundred years before the birth of Christ, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel” (Isa 7:14). Matthew affirms this prophesy at the birth of Christ when he declares, “His name is Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us” (1:23). I Chronicles 29: 10 Wherefore David blessed the Lord before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, Lord God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. 11 Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. 13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. This is one of the many descriptive Biblical references to the sovereign, majestic holy Jehovah God. Exodus 15:11 is a good summary: “Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” This is the Jehovah God that the Pilgrims and Puritans believed and proclaimed. This is the Jehovah God that Jonathan Edwards and George Whitfield believed and proclaimed; their preaching on the sovereignty and majesty of God ignited the flames of America’s Great Awakening revival beginning in the 1730s and spread thru out the colonies; their preaching became the impetus for the American Revolution. America’s churches, with a few exceptions, know little, if anything, about the true sovereign, holy, Jehovah God of the Bible because pastors, with a few exceptions, feed their congregants with a fluffy, feel good, let’s everybody be happy religiosity. Adam and Eve believed the lie, “You shall be as gods” if they broke God’s law of, “You shall not eat what I have forbidden”; their sin was ‘good and pleasant’ but resulted in their spiritual death; sadly Adam’s posterity to this day believe the lie that they are their ‘own god’, doing their own thing their own way, God and His perfect law notwithstanding. The multiplicity of America’s enemies is too many to list here, but the greatest enemies are ‘churches’ and ‘Christians’ who have ‘humanized’ and vilified the true, sovereign, holy Biblical Jehovah God and deified themselves and man at large as ‘gods’. The Biblical truth that is hated above all truth is that God is sovereign in all things, including the salvation of sinners; a sinner is spiritually dead in trespasses and sin, lost, blind, under the curse of sin, under the curse of the law, under the dominion of Satan, and under total inability to save himself; Jesus said, “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him” (John 6:44). ‘Salvation is of the Lord!’ God commands everyone to repent and believe the Gospel. God’s Word assures us in 1Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” And the Lord Jesus promised in John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” The greatest need today is to have a revival of discovering, believing, proclaiming, and exalting the true, sovereign, holy, Biblical Jehovah God and obeying His perfect law. Only then can churches return to a Biblical norm, marriage and families salvaged and restored, and America begin a journey to survival. Wake-up, Pastors!
