Amen to the following, as i have many times been told that what I do is cute............ Cute is a 4 letter word. Cute doesnt BEGIN to describe what educators do (or have the potential of doing). It constrains..... It doesnt begin to describe the real experiences of young children or the real experience of a classroom for a young child. Pre school is tears and fears, spills, laughter and wonder and delight. It is the first time a child encounters a classroom and is so much more than cute. Or it can be if a child is allowed to play. It is a Fundamental value....PLAY....... it offers the best possible foundation for school for life to follow. PLAY golf!
