America is an ethnic inclusive nation. It is a body of people comprised of people from everywhere. Nearly all other nations have very specific characteristics to their societies. Certain languages, physical features, social mores and codes of conduct, but the usual primary dividing factor is a certain physical appearance. America in essence had very few of these divisions that would determine what an american is. What language does an american speak? Whatever language he chooses. What does an american look like? Like someone from every other nation on the planet. What social mores and codes of conduct does he cling to? Those that he finds bearable to his conscience. So when someone from outside of another culture/society/nation comes into another the presence is apparent, and they are held to the societies codes of conduct. But as an american, everyone fits the mould.
