America is not, nor ever has been, a democracy… People saying we are, are either ignorant of the facts or deliberately lying. Nowhere in our founding documents is the word democracy; it isn’t in the Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, or Constitution, In fact, the Constitution states in Article IV, Section 4: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.” Federalist Paper #10, attributed to James Madison, shows utter contempt for the democratic form of government and reveals that it is the worst form the Convention could have given us… “From this view of the subject it may be concluded that a pure democracy, by which I mean a society consisting of a small number of citizens, who assemble and administer the government in person, can admit of no cure for the mischiefs of faction. A common passion or interest will, in almost every case, be felt by a majority of the whole; a communication and concert result from the form of government itself; and there is nothing to check the inducements to sacrifice the weaker party or an obnoxious individual. Hence it is that such democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths. Theoretic politicians, who have patronized this species of government, have erroneously supposed that by reducing mankind to a perfect equality in their political rights, they would, at the same time, be perfectly equalized and assimilated in their possessions, their opinions, and their passions.” The only reason we are suffering under the rule of the majority at this time is the effects of the 17th Amendment on our system of government. Through that fraudulent amendment a vital check in the checks and balances established at the Convention was removed, the representation of the state legislatures, and the effects of unbridled passions and partisanship was unloosed on us. One of the essential tasks before us is to see this overt attack on the Constitution repudiated; until it is we will continue this slide into the abyss of totalitarianism as more and more power is transferred to the Executive Branch. The road map being followed to democracy and beyond is contained in the Communist Manifesto: “We have seen above, that the first step in the revolution by the working class, is to raise the proletariat to the position of ruling class, to win the battle of democracy. The proletariat will use its political supremacy, to wrest, by degrees, all capital from the bourgeoisie, to centralise all instruments of production in the hands of the State,6 i.e., of the proletariat organised as the ruling class; and to increase the total productive forces as rapidly as possible. Of course, in the beginning, this cannot be effected except by means of despotic inroads on the rights of property, and on the conditions of bourgeois production; by means of measures, therefore, which appear economically insufficient and untenable, but which, in the course of the movement, outstrip themselves, necessitate further inroads upon the old social order, and are unavoidable as a means of entirely revolutionising the mode of production. These measures will of course be different in different countries. Nevertheless in most advanced countries, the following will be pretty generally applicable. * Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes. * A heavy progressive or graduated income tax. * Abolition of all rights of inheritance. * Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels. * Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly. * Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State. * Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State: the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan. * Equal obligation of all to labour. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture. * Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries: gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country, by a more equable distribution of the population over the country. * Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, &c., &c.
