American Center At Women University Hosts a Discussion on American Muslim Life! Rawalpindi, April 2, 2014 – IIP Regional Coordinating Officer Attia Nasar spoke to an interfaith audience of more than 50 female students and faculty on common misconceptions about Muslims in the United States. The event was organized by the Susan B. Anthony Reading Room at Fatima Jinnah Women University in Rawalpindi. To start off the program, the speaker fielded student opinions about Americans and Muslims. She then showed a clip from American Muslims, a new IIP produced video. During her interactive talk, the students asked questions such as, “Does wearing hijab causes problems for her?” and “Are Islamic family laws implemented in the United States?” She underscored the diversity of the Muslim-American population and promoted understanding of U.S. Constitutional rights and freedom.
