American Hustle [10 Oscar nominations, 2014] The reviews I have been reading about the movie has been overrated. It’s a good movie yes, but not Oscar worthy!! May be my expectations were of a gripping story “Godfather” type, but no. The movie has a fine smooth storytelling, very good time-wise makeup and dressing, an awesome cast ensemble and very good performances at portions, but the story is very very simple. The only thing that keeps the movie together is the names in there. The music is soothing and very well compliments the movie tone. Christian Bale has put on a belly and is good, Amy Adams compliments fine. Bradley cooper does well especially at the celebration scene, Jeremy Renner is cool and with that hair suits well too. Jennifer Lawrence is in the most beautiful role as seen on reel, absolutely pretty. She acts the best, and the time she mad dances alone on ‘live and let die’ made me smirk coz of the resemblance with me :D The actors have done a good job, not excellent; it’s a team job, no singular risings here. My rating: 6.5/10
