American Sniper I have had several hours to digest it and frankly, Im still just as blown away now as I was when credits rolled and I walked out of the theater. My buddy David went and saw it with me - his second time - I think he was just as speechless the 2nd time around as I am guessing he was the 1st. If you havent seen it - you need to. I dont want to give anything away on the film other than to say about it; Mr. Eastwood and Mr Cooper did remarkably and notably well paying homage to the book and Chris. As to the #fatman - his name wont even be mentioned - nuff said! I never got the opportunity to meet Chris but at the end of the film, I was as stunned and disoriented as I was Feb. 2, 2013 when the news broke of his death. It was almost like reliving that news all over again for the 1st time. I never knew or even met Chris, but I feel like I lost a friend. I do know his parents Wayne and Deby and we have communicated a few times over the last 2 years. I guess the last email I received was about 8 months ago or so however I did send them an email from the parking lot of Starplex. I told them thank you on behalf of all of my circle of friends - (all of you) for sharing Chris with all of us. Regardless of what you may think of the war one way or the other - Chris encompasses the VERY BEST America has to offer - but - he is not the only one and I know for a fact - Wayne would say this too - because he has told me so in private conversations! So to all of you who my band of brothers and sisters who served: Benjamin Smith, Carl Higbie, Wayne Dupree, Colby Smith, Dale Huls, Chris Anderson, Matthew Artiles, Lisa Mei, Tony Tinderholt, Jonathan Stickland, Mark Greiser, Andrew Chavarrilla, Heidi Hansing, Tony Slaven, Eric Adam, Craig McMichael, Vaiden WhoDat Courtney, R. Doc Zortman and many more I just dont know served Thank you!
