American Sniper.... Judging the movie for realism, was def not my intent, with regard to uniform accuracy, or believability of actions, etc... As being in the military for most of my life, has ruined that for me... The same reason that I cant watch Lone Survivor with dry eyes, is the very same reason that I did not have dry eyes during this movie... 1. I can relate to it, in that I have been to war in that region, and recognize that God awful call to prayer 2. I can listen to the way that the Warriors talk to each other.... Not just a bunch of F bombs, but the rough, yet unconditionally loving verbiage that is used... 3. It always bothered me, for a short period of time, when one of my brothers was killed... Then, we would go shoot bad guys the next day, and when we returned to base, take a shot for our fallen brother, and we were fine, back to work, business as usual... Until thought of the family left behind, creeps into my head, and it cripples me... Turning me into an incoherent, sobbing, babbling idiot... The wives, the sons, the daughters, the mothers, the fathers, the brothers.... All staring at a picture of their fallen loved one... Thats when things get heavy... Clint found that nerve, and danced on it, for a long time... 4. When Chris came home, and found peace, helping other who were injured, or troubled, was reminiscent of my own path, and hit home with me, yet again... 5. The overall feeling, spoken and lived, as a sheepdog in our world, is pretty much the summation of my lifes meaning.... Anyone who knows me, at all, can attest to that... As movies go, it was pretty damn good. As movies go, as judged on THOSE points.... One of the best movie Ive ever seen..... RLTW!
