American-Statesman 11:50 a.m. update: Meagan Work has been charged with two first-degree felonies and her boyfriend, Michael Turner, has been charged with one first-degree felony in the death of her son, 2-year-old Colton Turner, Austin police announced Friday. Work has been charged with injury to a child and injury to a child by omission, while Michael Turner has been charged with injury to a child by omission, police said. The felonies are punishable by up to life in prison. Bail has been set at $750,000 on each charge. A co-worker of Michael Turner’s came forward and told police that he witnessed Meagan Work assaulting Colton Turner before he died, officials said. Officials said the remains found in a shallow grave in September were identified Thursday as Colton Turner. Investigators were waiting for the remains to be identified before filing further charges, police said.
