American reality for sure ... forks in the road become much more apparent in retrospect, appearances can be deceiving and empathy carries us much farther than apathy ... lack of moral stability, purposelessness of life and misdirection of effort ... Bruce Dern and his youngest son are abused empaths abused by the women that chose or reject them on a whim ... the mothers smile is disarming and insincere and she uses it as a weapon (like my sister) ... good character analysis of all characters with all the characters appearing with expected human foibles ... i really enjoyed the movie but i dont even remember the ending ... it seems they were kind of frozen in a timeless limbo that seems to fade away in the distance .. no beginning, no ending
