Americans always have a sense of history. World War II museums - TopicsExpress

Americans always have a sense of history. World War II museums today have become a major tourist destination. Indeed, yesterday’s war is today’s tourist destination. A couple of weeks ago, we went to the 9/11 Museum, which has now become America’s must-see tourist destination. I guess this is what makes America a great nation. They don’t forget the wars where their sons and daughters died fighting in battle. I totally agree. Here in the Philippines, we scrap History in our education curriculum, retaining the topics that propagate colonial mentality. Shrines are desecrated and those who fight to defend the nation and protect the sovereignty are not given much priority in our national budget. No wonder people from other countries though we are joking when we tell them about pension rates. It all boils down to just one statement: A nation that forgets its defenders shall itself be forgotten.
