Amerie or how she spells it now, Ameriie, broke out onto the scene in 2002 with her smash, summer hit Why Dont We Fall In Love?...a couple years later, she rose back to the top of the charts with the first single 1 Thing from her second album, Touch. The producer of both of these albums (see: Rich Harrison) thought that he should expand the go-go/hip-hop sound to another solo artist at that time: Beyonce. Ameriie was then pushed to the musical background while Beyonce walked away with a #1 hit with Crazy In Love which sounded similar to Ameriies debut style. Shes released two albums since, but they havent matched the success of her 1st and 2nd albums. Musical conundrum or should Ameriie dust herself off and try again?
