Amid all the primarily Republican, and Conservative cries for military action in Iraq again, I believe America should not take sides in the religious civil war going on in Syria and Iraq. Many in the West are making too much of the role of ISIL militants in the battle against Maliki. ISIL is a relatively small minority of the Sunni people in Iraq. But because of Shiite repression and marginalization, many have decided the enemy of my enemy is ...... The heavily partisan Shiite Iraqi central government we helped set up. Maliki sabotaged any gains we had in Iraq. there is a genuine discontent and marginalization on the part of the mainly Sunni constituency and we should not address ISIL as being the main antagonist. It is a simplistic mindset that invites further American military intervention promoted by ignorant politicians and their neocon allies. “ISIL jumped in to take advantage of the situation. Any solution has to address the conditions that sparked the revolt against the Maliki government.. Seriously...I despise the fear mongering, misrepresentations, and attempts to simplify the extremely complex situation and that renewed American intervention will only expose our weaknesses, not our strength..
