Among my excursions today in downtown Chang Mai, I made sure to - TopicsExpress

Among my excursions today in downtown Chang Mai, I made sure to stop at my favorite local market, the Sompet Market, on Sol 6 Street. I initially discovered this market when I got lost on my first visit to the downtown area. I stumbled upon it and immediately fell in love with not only the market but the sweet people and all the other tiny shops along the road....fresh smoothly stands, local spice vendors, etc. Just like the foods in a grocery store, you need to pick the ripe healthy foods from the ugly rotten foods(but those are few). My taste buds have been dancing and with all the new flavors they have been flooded with. My diet has included daily doses of these amazing colorful fresh foods and spices such as .....rambutans, guavas, bananas, mangos, papayas, dragon fruits, pineapples, durians, watermelons, oranges, honey dew melons, cantelopes, and mangosteens. However, the tastiest fruit of my trip has been the people I meet on a daily basis. The markets, smoothie shops, restaurants, Wats, and massage shops I have stumbled upon have all been hidden gems, with each one providing me their own unique experience but its the people behind the counters and along the way that have been the real nourishing fruits of my days. One of my favorite organic vegetarian/smoothie restaurants, Beetroot Stories, was one I stumbled upon unexpectedly. It is located off the beaten path down a side street. I have included a picture of the story on how this funky place came to be....it was simply born from one womans love of beets. What is your passion fruit in your life....? Are you tasting, enjoying and savoring it....?
