Among the many wonderful films directed by the late Mike Nichols is the underrated and oft-neglected 1970 movie Catch-22, which (like Robert Altmans M*A*S*H, released the same year) reflected the antiwar anger of the Vietnam era through the prism of an earlier war (in the case of Catch-22, WWII).
