Among the most controversial cats there are is the scientist Charles Mewrin, often credited with disproving Basement Cat with his theory of furolution. Mewrin one day decided to go on a trip with some kitty friends with him on a Beagle to find stuff out about other non-kitteh animals. Mewrin got hungry at one point and hunted down some finches, but after everyone took a bite of one they thought they were gross and decided to study them instead. Mewrin noticed that they had longer beaks than the others and came to the conclusion that species inherit traits to help them live in their environment, and he wrote about in his book On Da Originz of Da Kittehs which somehow lead cat to thinking his theory meant that the original cats were lions,then tigers, then cheetas,and now cats. It is something like that but not quite. Nowadays many Cattheist use his theory to debunk Ceiling Cat, the most well known is Richard Pawkins author of Da Ceiling Cat Delusionz and Da selfish memes which has nothing but memes of himself (to make this pun more interesting, the actual Richard Dawkins is the one who coined the term meme). Mewrins theory was rejected by Castians but now is being more accepted and understood by them, although some blame it for Catzism.
