Amy Glass out of Idaho sends us a great example of how to walk on - TopicsExpress

Amy Glass out of Idaho sends us a great example of how to walk on hands and what you should look like in the form doing so. Notice a forward lean toward the walk as she is inverted... Notice the nice tight body form and active pressing of the hands with deliberate placement on the ground as she walks forward. Notice how she almost intentionally grips the floor with her fingers and has a wide foundational platform with the hands... Straight legs which are tight and together, toes pointed, as she keeps the body stacked and looks at the ground - she controls her speed forward with the lean in the body toward the walk itself. There is a simple cadence with the hands that corresponds in the lean - if she leans more toward the walk she must pick up the pace with her hands - when she decides to slow it and stop she does so with control and becomes more stacked and no lean - then reverse lunges down one leg at a time with control and precision. She also looks at the ground using the gaze there for a focal point - but maintains her stacked inverted position and the hollow brace for midline stabilization when looking at the ground. This is textbook control - It is what you should be striving for as you develop the strength and control in such a form and then you can work on distances and speed work in the cadence if you so desire... Now - go out and get some! Coach Tucker
