Amy Marion FOUNDING PARTNER A founding partner and head of the firm’s civil practice group, Ms. Marion began her career with the Criminal Defense Division of the New York Legal Aid Society where her numerous acquittals and courtroom successes were so notable that she was chosen from among all of the public defenders in New York City to be featured on a Court Television documentary entitled “The Public Defender.” Since entering private practice in 1997, Ms. Marion has built a reputation as a formidable civil litigator, handling a long list of high profile cases involving wrongful death and civil rights violations as well as commercial disputes against both municipalities and private corporations. Given her strong criminal defense background, Ms. Marion is expertly suited to handle civil cases which arise from criminal investigations. Among the many significant settlements obtained for her clients, Ms. Marion achieved an award in excess of a million dollars for the brutal treatment of individuals being held in an INS detention center. Ms. Marion lectures for the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ continuing legal education programs and has written articles published by the New York Law Journal, the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and TheLaw.TV. Ms. Marion has also been selected as a member of the 2014 New York Metro Super Lawyers.
