Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease which causes muscle weakness and atrophy throughout the body and Individuals affected by the disorder may ultimately lose the ability to initiate and control all voluntary movement! I am extremely astonished by how much of an impact social media has on the world. Thank you Mala Narshhman for the nomination! I would like to nominate Ritha Kila Raja, Prathyusha Roy, Gaurang Makam, and Abhi Nagaraja to either donate to the cause, do the ice bucket challenge or nominate others to spread awareness! I vouch to donate to the cause upon my return to the US :) Cool fact: USA today news has reported that this challenge has raised $15.6 million since July 29th 2014. However, prior to this challenge over one year they had only raised $1.8 million! Simply brilliant :)
