An Andrews Labor Government will save Victoria’s TAFE system, - TopicsExpress

An Andrews Labor Government will save Victoria’s TAFE system, rebuilding facilities and reopening campuses across Victoria to help our kids get skills and jobs. Labor will re-open Swinburne Lilydale and invest $10 million into the campus, so it can focus on sectors with extraordinary potential for growth, identified in Labor’s Back to Work plan. Labor will also invest $7.8 million towards an Environmental and Animal Science Centre in Bendigo and $10 million to re-open TAFE in Greensborough. Labor will also commit $8 million to a student hub to be built at Holmesglen TAFE in Moorabbin, invest $25 million to rebuild Chisholm TAFE in Frankston and $5 million towards an industry hub at Federation University TAFE in Ballarat. The Liberals made the biggest cuts to Victoria’s TAFE system in history. Across Victoria, campuses were closed and courses were cut, making it harder for our kids to get skills and get a job as youth unemployment skyrockets. Labor’s plan to re-build and re-open TAFEs is part of our $320 million TAFE Rescue Fund to save the stricken system and the many institutions at risk of financial ruin. When the Liberals cut TAFE in the middle of a jobs crisis, they made it so much harder for young people to get skills, get a job and build a better life. Labor will save TAFE, re-build facilities and re-open campuses, so our kids can get the skills they need for the job they want and enter the workforce with confidence.
