An English adage says,Do not judge a book by its appearance. I could rightly say, the books value is in its contents. The Late President Micheal Sata was a man of action, who will be remembered for being practical. I am sure he was not so foolish as to assign three critical positions to a functionally impotent person. The Late President Mr Sata had extreme confidence in the honourable Edgar Lungu to appoint him as the Parties Secretary General and Acting President while manning the Defence and Justice ministries. I must confess had my doubts also on Edgar Lungus (EL) ability. My prejudices fooled my intelligence just like many of us, who fail to identify the Messiah because is born and helms from an insignificant town of Bethlehem and not the significant city of Jerusalem. I took my time to know more and understand honourable Edgar Lungu, to my surprise and still amused. EL is a well learned man, who is both intelligent and wise. In addition, a simple and down to earth man. EL for me has demonstrated gross responsibility and seems to be more serene than most power hungry folks in the PF and its Cartel. In my opinion, history is about to repeat itself. This is like, when Late President Levy Mwanawasa was appointed Presidential candidate. The prejudiced masses labelled him impotent and went on to nickname him cabbage to our amusement he became a historical head of state, whose legacy remains as the President, who reinstated the Zambian economic machinery back on course to prosperity and development. EL is under estimated, but is as effective as his predecessor Late Micheal Chilufya Sata. I would edge the PF party, if they are to continue as a party EL is the right candidate. EL is a patriotic Zambian as demonstrated by his demeanor, when requested by the PFs Central committee to handover the Acting Presidency to the Vice President. He obliged without any resistance. Give him the Hot Seat.
