An MP allied to the Jubilee Coalition has urged former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, to stop fooling Kenyans with a referendum saying he wants to revive his political career after losing the March 4th elections. Addressing the press in Kipipiri Constituency after a leaders’ meeting on Wednesday, Kipipiri MP, Samuel Gichigi, said Raila’s call for a referendum will jeopardise development growth especially because just recently, Kenya was in a General Election. The lawmaker termed Raila’s call for a referendum as an "idle talk" and called on Kenyans to focus on meaningful development and supporting the Government’s efforts in realizing its goals. He also urged CORD leaders to focus on building the country instead of engaging in political bickering. Gichigi also challenge Raila to tell Kenyans which side of the political divide he was when Kenyans overwhelmingly voted for a new constitution in 2010. Gachigi said Raila was one of those who called for a Presidential system of governance and now he is claiming he wants a Parliamentary system of governance. The legislator urged Raila not to treat Kenyans as fools saying, many Kenyans know what kind of a politician he is.
