An ODNR Wildlife Officer observed what appeared to be a mountain lion in the Wintersville area near Fernwood State Forest. We are advising the public of this sighting so they can take the proper precautions. Wildlife officers are patrolling with local law enforcement to ensure public safety. Mountain lions are typically 4 to 5 feet in length, weighting between 120-150 pounds. If you believe you have sighted this animal please call the Division of Wildlife at 330-644-2293.
