An Open Letter to My Educated Northerners and Youths Dear Northern Friends, Permit me to start this letter by saying I have refused to be fully involved in Nigerian politics these days because my brain is working beyond stupidity. I have realised that the only person either supporting PDPigs or APCheats wholeheartedly must either be a pig or a fraudster. BUT this does not mean we should not talk to one another when need be. Maybe youve all forgotten about the history of Nigeria but remembering one another once in a while is nice and cool. Im aware that Nigeria is where it is today because northerners ruled us more than others. They lacked focus and plan for Nigeria with the great exception of Murtala Mohammed who is the ONLY hero I worship and will forever worship as a Nigerian leader. Today, each time I come on social media and see the way you join the bunch of the destructive, heinous and vampire-like leaders in raining insults and abuses on the snail-like and sagaciously-weak President called Goodluck Jonathan, I pity the kind of future I will be living in as a Nigerian with you all. You have simply learnt nothing despite your schooling and exposure. Ive never seen anyone of you struggling or fighting for ECONOMIC EMANCIPATION in the north. All I see are your ferocious attacks for your person to get to the Presidency. Is that the only achievement you masturbate about? If that will guarantee the emancipation of the north, I think I will be the first to vote for a northerner GENUINELY. Before that, let us look at statistics. Northerners control more in Nigeria; oil blocs, politics, NNPC, government parastatals and others yet the region is the MOST BACKWARD and you still clamour for the Presidency with such hyena-like ardour!? Do an analysis of President Jonathans regime and see the number of northerners there. Apart from that, what have the northern governors done to better the lives of their people? Are they not the same people that are being pushed forward as alternatives to Jonathan? What have the elites done? Where are the investments and industries? The richest man in Africa, Dangote is from the north BUT has almost all his investments in the South. Did Jonathan create Boko Haram? It started before him and in a bid to spite him, it was intensified and now it is burning the children of the North more than spite Jonathan. I thought with your education as youths, we should be able to leave parochial sentiments, walk and work to rescue Nigeria BUT each day I think deeply and realise that we are not on the same page. You have the education to continue where your elites have stopped not to salvage Nigeria. I love Northerners from childhood. My family can testify to it. I fought vehemently to have my woman from there because of the general sincerity, trustworthiness and truthfulness the un-educated ones have but I still find it hard to gulp the level of bigotry the educated ones emit. The various religious crises weve been having in Nigeria in the north unchecked concretely culminated into Boko Haram today. Goodluck is too slow; hence, an all out war should have been declared. We are at war yet you all as educated ones still for the sake of sentiment try to raise unnecessary fabricated issues. Corruption is not and never our major problem. Our major problems are RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY and TRIBAL SENTIMENT. You hardly condemn your fellow notherners even if they are worse than Jonathan. That is what the South-south people are doing too. For the sake of the record, people of the South-west condemned Obasanjo mostly. They were on his throat. Talk of Pastor Tunde Bakare, Chief Olu Falae, Gani Fawehinmi (SAN, SAM), Femi Falana (SAN), Bola Tinubu and host of others. I can go on and on but I need to rest my typing fingers and tell my fellow educated northern youths that gone are the days when we can be railroaded and threatened because their elites want to rule Nigeria. Nobody has the monopoly of violence. Nigeria belongs to us all. If they want change, they must jettison colossal sentiment and work with other youths not to follow-follow their elites and start crying for the Presidency. I want Jonathan and PDPigs kicked out but replacement must be on the order of merit, credibility and collective endorsement not forcing anyone down our throats. Thank you all.
