An Update for my FB Friends and Family..... As most of you know I was injured at work on July 19th. I tried to “walk it off” for a couple of days, but that did not work and it is now confirmed that I have some serious damage. After leaving PMH (Perry Memorial Hospital) in Perry FL, I was referred to Shands UF in Gainesville, FL where they did more test and came up with 2 options... both options involve surgery. Today I had an Ultrasound and it confirmed what we already knew.... Things are not where they are suppose to be. I met with another Doctor and he also came up with the same conclusion. He actually reduced my activity level from up to 5 lbs of weight to absolutely NONE..... He also referred me to have a special custom fit brace ... I get it on Wednesday or Thursday (I really wanted to wear the “demo” out of their office).... I could not believe the difference it made. I am still scheduled to meet the surgeon on Monday August 12th unless they get a cancellation, they are trying to get me in earlier. That is about all.... I have been limiting my phone calls as the meds make me groggy and extremely tired most of the time. I will give everyone an update in a few days.... The good news is that it is very repairable and the long term recovery is not really that long. I definitely will miss the rest of the Summer outings but hopefully by the Fall I will be back in full swing..... :-)
