From 1923 to 1951, Ed Leedskalnin, an immigrant from Latvia, single-handedly and secretly carved over 1,100 tons of coral rock, and his unknown process has created one of the worlds most mysterious accomplishments. He built it at night, and all alone, for his 16 year old sweetheart back in Latvia, who married someone else and never came to the US. Its been featured on many TV shows. The 9 ton revolving back door could be turned with one finger, balanced on a single pivot and ball bearings from a cars transmission.
