An advancement in the measurement of time is not an advancement in the human condition. Time is not a ticking clock measured in equally spaced moments. That is mechanical convention used to log and schedule events. Time is river flowing constantly with no known beginning or end. Who cares if you are 2 miles upriver or 4 miles down. What matters is how fun the ride is and who is sitting next to you on the boat.
