An all night rain last night brought cool winds, and relief from heat, but they will make the roads a muddy mess. Our worker just broke and pounded bricks on the road in front of our home two days ago as the mud was getting so thick and deep it was hard to drive through without risking being stuck. Repairing things is a full time job here, cars, roads, appliances, etc. I do think that daily we are either repairing something or calling a repair person. It is a part of daily life here. Even living here in the city the back roads are full of holes, bumps, and are a mess in rainy season. Some small cars cannot travel on some of them without bottoming out. We found out yesterday that one of our team vans needs a new motor..... it is the same one we rebuilt the motor in a year and a half ago. These vehicles take a beating on our roads, and are driven many miles through our extensive team use of them. It is a hard country! The vans are used often for large groups when we do not need to pull our camping or building supply trailers. John received this repair news last night and I heard him give a deep sigh on the phone. He had already had a very long and busy day so it was not the best news to try and end with before supper! Pray we can find and buy a new motor, have it installed CORRECTLY and have this vehicle back up and running soon. This is the one we call our Yellow Van (why I do not know as it is white just like the others.... Our ladies team arrives this afternoon so we have some busy days ahead. I will be out of town with no internet several days next week at a Burkinabe girls camp. Pray for the ministries in the days ahead. During their visit we also have a team of 2 men coming to install a laptop lab in the village of Dedougou. They overlap a few days with this ladies group. We have a technical school in Dedougou and this team has donated lap tops to improve the quality of the education there. We are so excited, as is the National Church. Yippeeeeeee This month we have very few days with no teams on the ground. Then we have two teams in November. We are so thankful for our solid Envision/Engage missionary team, and thankful that the Ebola scare (and we have no reported cases here) have not kept these teams from stepping out in faith to come and serve!
