An amazing and wonderful woman, Judy Anne DuPuis, has been taken from us too soon. Judy Anne, age 70, passed on in the presence of her husband, Curtis Levi Du Puis on Oct 2, 2014 at 5:28 am from a heart attack. Judy Anne & Curtis were married for 41 years this past June. They were wed on June 24th, 1973. Judy Anne is survived by her husband Curtis DuPuis, twin daughters Marla DuPuis Conwell (Jesse Conwell) and Mary DuPuis (Gary Garrety) as well as her son Curtis DuPuis II (Heidi DuPuis) and several grandchildren who include Darion Conwell, Tiera Garrety, Mailee Garrety, Remy Garrety, and Isaiah Garrety. Her sister Vivian Fetty and brother Ken Wilson (Sue Wilson) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Romayne (Wilson) Aarhus, her step-father Andrew Aarhaus, and her brother Tracey Wilson. Judy’s first love and commitment was to her family, which was also comprised of many close friends. Everyone enjoyed her humor, compassion, insight and incredible cooking. Her legacy is the love and understanding with which she embraced those around her. No matter how troubled, Judy was able to bring warmth and emotion to any situation; she always had the perfect words to console others and create a sense of belonging and acceptance. She cherished cooking and baking for those she loved on both special occasions and as a daily demonstration of her devotion. Another of Judy’s passions included her love of books and reading. She introduced this passion to all the children she met in the local schools and the Centralia library where she was a children’s librarian in various institutions for 37 years. Judy was well known throughout Western Washington as she traveled and shared her stories in many school districts and children’s groups. Judy and her family enjoyed many seasons working in the garden, harvesting, preserving and canning their own foods. Judy Anne will always be remembered for putting other people first and always making an effort to do the right thing, no matter how challenging, with her kind words, wry sense of humor and giving ways. Our family feels an irreplaceable loss as she was our heart and soul. Her kindness and compassion will be sorely missed and deeply grieved. She taught us to bring comfort and love to those in our lives, emphasizing laughter, caring and dedication. In her honor we will live out her dreams of family traditions and unconditional love. Her Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 at 2 pm at the Chehalis Tribal Community Center located on the Chehalis Reservation. Follow Highway 12 west, towards Oakville. Turn left onto Anderson Rd. Follow Anderson to the stop sign at the top of the hill. Continue forward until you come to Secena Rd on the right. Turn right onto Secena Rd. The Chehalis Tribal Community Center will be the first building on the right. Enter through the second entrance and park towards the left of the building.
