An amazing e-mail I received yesterday! Hi Christy – when I attended the recent event on Parliament Hill to raise awareness about pediatric cancer, I was given a beautiful painting as a gift for my office. The painting was done by your daughter Bridget and it was given to me by Trisha Ciarlo who asked that I put it up in my office so that visitors to the Foundation could enjoy it and hear the story behind it. I absolutely loved the painting and I noticed that Bridget had printed the word “Dream” in the centre of it which immediately made me think of a better location to display it. As you can see in the attached photos, we have put Bridget’s painting on display at the 2014 CHEO Dream Home by Minto which is the centrepiece of our Dream of a Lifetime Lottery campaign. I think it looks amazing and I know that upwards of 40,000 people will visit the Dream Home and enjoy it. Please thank Bridget for me and hopefully you will have a chance to visit the Dream Home sometime between now and December 12 to see it in person. I have copied Trisha on this message so she will also know what became of the painting and so she can now truly claim to know a very celebrated young artist in our community! I also want to thank you personally for allowing us to share Bridget’s story during our 2015 telethon. I look forward to getting to know you and Bridget through this process over the coming months.
