An amazing experience, bomb or not. This was a great meet and I enjoyed it. Got to meet and talk with some great people, including my sponsor Ken Anderson, thank you for everything youve done so far! no worries, we will be back again next year! A training cycle can go great all 10-12weeks all it wants to, doesnt matter unless you put it together on meet day. Here are my squats from the Olympia. 1st attempt: 948 - had bar placed a little lower than normal - 1st mistake. when I unracked it, I couldve swore I was hitting the racks, after watching... i guess not? excuses excuses, not deep enough. 1/3 whites no lift. 2nd attempt: 948 - everything felt great, unrack, walk out, depth. thought I had this one, went fast. 1/3 whites no lift. 3rd attempt: 981 - went up ~40lbs to give me the depth they were saying I was missing, literally the fingers they held up - made it I was missing depth by 1/4 inch? maybe less. damn fingers lol. FUNNY thing about this attempt, I double dipped... yet they red lighted me on depth... I was confused... Positives from meet: Had dinner with some amazing people (Goggins, Nick Tsourounis, Nicki Crapotta, Scott Cartwright, Marshall Johnson, Kathy Johnson, Lance Ross, Chad Aichs, Valdimar Ragnar Valdimarsson Richter and others). I met some awesome other lifts ( too many to tag.) And i finally achieved the old saying that I thought I was invincible from (its not if you will bomb, its when you will bomb) Not that is done and over... lets hope we are back to prs :D Negatives: Bombed, no one likes that. But I can appreciate it, its all how you respond to things... Ill be back in 2015.. the squats will be heavier, and lower. remember its the job of the lifter to leave no doubt to the judges.. so whether you think its bad calls or not, I dont care. I left doubt, which ultimately resulted in me bombing. Lesson learned.
